Beware the Ides of Punkt

Jan Bang
Jan Bang
So I dunno about you, but Sir Dhahii has been running around Mung HQ like a Golden Tamarind on speed. Yes, it's that time of the year again when the more artistically inclined among us go batshit for the Punkt Festival ...

This annual regatta of musical wine and cheese is curated by Mung's own King Jan Bang ("The bestest button-pusher in the world EVER") and his own Gríma Wormtongue, Erik Honoré.

Previous festival highlights have included luminaries such as Jon Hassell, John Paul Jones and Brian Eno, as well as the usual Norwegian coven of ...

The Unsinkable Simon Cowell

UNTOUCHABLE SIMON COWELLRight, you daft bastards.

I've watched for the past week, and said little. But now I feel I need to state something obvious:

YOU CANNOT SINK SIMON COWELL.

At least, you can't in the manner which seems to be the chosen one for blogheads and "campaigners" out there.

Last week, a young chap (12 years old) was the "means" to that "end." Didn't work. Accusing Simon Cowell of "cheating" (when is he NOT CHEATING, really?) is a pathetic approach to defaming the chap. That's like accusing the sun of shining. Pointless.

First of all: the 12 year old boy at the center of all of the accusations last week was the only person whose future might have been affected. A 12 year old boy. Got that? A kid who can sing, whether groomed or not. Why use a 12 year old boy as a weapon against Simon Cowell?

Frankly, some of my fellow "bloggers" out there ...

Los Angeles in Black

LA NoireOK. It seems that not only has Sir Dhahii neglected to update the website as he claimed he would, he is actually assisting me with this blog. As I may have mentioned elsewhere (Twitter, Twatter or Phacebuck), he was playing a video game, with the rather unimaginative title of "LA Noire" ...

Normally, I skulk off to do something else once the Xbox takes over the main TV at Mung HQ ... but this game actually caught my attention: it felt as though something was going to happen ...

So I continued watching. And within half an hour I was ... participating.

Now, anyone who is actually interested in such things can read reviews elsewhere. Fine, I don't give a shit. But let me tell you about what happened within 2 hours: it became quite boring.

Universally (it seems) this game has the highest applause, and will no doubt receive the most tacky golden ...

Brief Addendum

"Portal 2" ... I played this as the request of Sir Dhahii (he has hounded me to play other games, but this was the first that held any innate appeal for me).

Very good. Except too short, and a little bit easy. Have yet to play it with another being, though. Ultimately, a reasonable waste of time if you feel you have time to waste. Good dialogue. I empathized with everyone.

Reminded me of an experience I had once as well, but that was long ago, on a different world.

You're all vacuumheads

This will be my last post before the arrival of the new Mungolian site ...

I await my fate with the calmness of a rohypnol-laden sorority girl.

I have been "given" a Facebook page by Sir Dhahii, which I assume is some kind of pre-onslaught appeasement. However, rather than rail against it like some Anglo-Saxon twat attempting to turn the tides, I shall embrace it and see how long it takes to be removed as an obstreperous bully.

The release of the Moon Jocks remixes has caused some celebration in Mung HQ. I preferred solitude to contemplate the sudden lack of Cheryl Cole sightings of late, and ponder the meaning of all things. And write a book. Yes, I have decided that a mere blog is not enough, that Twittering is insufficient, that Facebook is inadequate. Social networking in general is a vacuum. So a solid tome is my option.

In the meantime, enjoy ...
